Background
Started as an engineer in mobile network data engineering across Australia, Asia and North America. He took an NYU Stern MBA and joined BCG in 2011 as a technology and telecom strategy consultant. He joined Appen in October 2018 as VP Corporate Development.
There he led the acquisitions of Figure Eight and Quadrant and helped set up the China and Federal divisions. He was SVP Strategy & Innovation, then COO (2023), then CEO & MD (5 Feb 2024).
What they run now
His 2026 priorities are data quality as the 'north star', go-to-market focused on hyperscalers and foundation-model builders, co-innovating new data modalities (multimodal, agents, robotics), and tech-led efficiency. He is also running a two-division business (Appen Global vs a fast-growing Appen China).
